While I love the new things in Sametime 7.5, the question I have is will the Eclipse based Hannover have the same extensibility? If so, it's going to be a whole new ball game for Domino Developers and Business Partners.

@1 my understanding is just that. Lotus Notes Hannover based on Eclipse and will be extensible. As to what extent I really don't know. I think it will have product extension points where 3rd party developers can add plugins etc. Being based on Eclipse is a very good strategic move on IBM's behalf. By making Notes extensible, like you say, will create a whole new ball game for Domio Developers.
The other part that is exciting is the ability to have composite applications. This comes out of the idea of portals linking various applications together at the screen level with portlets interacting with each other even though the actual applications behind the portlets are separate systems. This capability at having a composite application is meant to be part of Hannover. So your traditional Notes app might leverage of some other application.
